With this in mind, energy medicine is also
a multifaceted approach to health and well-being utilising many
mediums for the transference of energy from one system to another,
eg from lets say a crystal to a human, animal, plant. Lets take
crystals. Different types of crystals resonate at different frequencies,
these assist in bringing balance and harmony to whatever they
come into contact with, for example a person, this is called coherence.
For me this is the miraculous simplicity of healing - the coherence
of frequency of crystal and person for transformation!
The Process of Transformation
So what is ‘transformation’? Lets take a deeper look
at this phenomena with something that most people have had some
experience of – weight! Sometime in our lives maybe we have
experienced having weight concerns. Any physical presentation
has required processes to take place to create the outcome, and
these processes are generally habitual, created through repetition.
They occur whether we are aware of these processes or not and
are taking place constantly. If someone is going through motions/life
in an unconscious mode, feelings, thoughts and actions take place
to ‘create’ outcomes, but without awareness.
If someone has used food as a comfort or control in times of
stress/distress then they are most likely to have created an unconscious
reactive process that kicks in at the onset of any stressful experience.
Lets say they are presented, without warning, with a situation
that causes them to feel out of their depth? Immediately and generally
without their awareness physiological processes take place: the
hormone Cortisol, known as the ‘stress hormone’ is
released from the adrenal cortex, it increases blood pressure
and sugar levels and is also an immunosuppressive – meaning
it depletes the immune system, and evokes the ‘fight or
flight’ experience. This has an immediate effect on the
physical heart as increased heart rate, and it also has an immediate
effect on the energetic heart centre, our emotional centre, which
is directly & intricately linked to the brain. The probability
of a habitual response will occur, they will look to food to alleviate
the uncomfortable feeling that has occurred to evoke feelings
of safety. Thus increased intake of food may create increased
weight gain, and then possibly feelings of guilt for the consequential
behaviour, this may in turn create another bout of binge eating!
The cycle goes round & round unconsciously strengthening the
pathway. This is also the cycle for the eating disorder bulemia.
This process is also true of positive emotional experiences and
how they affect the brain function.
Below is a section from a study held at the HeartMath Institute
“The first two studies focus primarily on neurological
interactions, demonstrating that the afferent signals the heart
sends the brain during positive emotions can alter brain activity
in several ways. In the first study, we find that cardiac coherence
can drive entrainment between very low frequency brainwaves and
heart rhythms, thus further expanding our understanding of the
physiological entrainment mode described in the previous section.
In the second study, we learn that coherent heart rhythms also
lead to increased heart-brain synchronization. The implications
of these findings are explored in the third study, which shows
that in states of high heart rhythm coherence, individuals demonstrate
significant improvements in cognitive performance.”

Which comes first, the heart/emotional response or the brain?
Scientifically, research is finding that instantaneous responses
first occur in our emotional energy then, in a split second a
neuron response is fired within the brain which finds the strongest
synaptic pathway related to the emotional response to produce
a physiological reaction. This, over a period of time creates
a behavioural response which in turn will create physical manifestation-
physical structure alters!!!
So at a finer level, how does the brain ‘choose’
which response? Well maybe it doesn’t consciously ‘choose’,
it is reactive so it searches for the strongest neural pathway
and the synapse function is triggered. This impulse is converted
to a physiological chemical process, which either excites or inhibits
activity in the connecting neuron depending on the intensity.
This determines the molecular event at the synapse. Any sustained
behaviour creates a synaptic pathway, the more this pathway is
used the stronger it becomes – the more ingrained the behaviour.
SYNAPSES FUNCTION IN THE FLOW OF INFORMATION: The creation of
perceptions?
At the synapse, nerve impulses are converted to physiological
chemical processes, which excite or inhibit activity in the connecting
neuron depending on their strength (intensity) which determines
the molecular events at the synapse (synaptic activity) eg sending
a message to release the cortisol when the body registers fear.
Depending on the occurrence of excitation or inhibition synapses
are either strengthened or weakened. New synapses can be created.
Established synapses can deteriorate, through limited use. As
a result of this process of ‘synapse modification’
neural pathways is altered, behaviours change.
The relevance of this with the Laws of Intention & Attraction:-
Application to the Laws of Intention & Attraction
Alteration of neural pathways involves the physiological process
of continuity of information from one part of the brain to another
i.e. 'information flow'. Simply put, the more we think/focus on
something, the more we attach to it and bring it into manifestation.
The more ‘real’ the information focused on feels the
stronger the information flow and the strengthening of neural
pathways & the development of new synaptic activity. Is this
how worry grows into anxiety, anxiety into fear and fear into
incapacity through depression, OCD, agro phobia and probably many
more conditions? On the other side of this, visualisation on positive
life changes also generates change. We are beginning to create
a new reality through conscious focus (Intention) on a vision.
If we then bring into this vision the feelings we expect to experience
once this becomes our reality, we begin to generate a vibrational
coherence (matching up) with the ‘frequency of particles’
that resonate with these feelings – like attracts like!!!
Once these 2 separate frequencies interact with each other they
create ‘interference’. In interference, at least two
wave-like entities are combined and, depending on the relative
phase between them, they can add constructively or subtract destructively.
Once they have created this process of interference they are never
separate, even if they are not in the same ‘space’.
As an example, consider two waves perfectly correlated for all
times, at any time, if the first wave changes, the second will
change in the same way. If combined they can exhibit complete
constructive interference at all times. It follows that they are
perfectly coherent.
The more we ‘see’ this vision in our minds eye and
fully attaching the feeling we expect to experience when living
this reality, the more cohering particles of energy attach to
the vision, creating a denser and denser image until it so ‘heavy’
with energy it manifests as matter, it becomes our reality! The
important aspect here is feelings, why? Because feelings give
movement to, they propel the act of creation. Feelings underlie
our desires, desires intensify our vibration and with this intensity
we activate the principle of magnetic attraction, which can do
nothing but draw the desire to us!
This effect occurs in exactly the same way whether we allow our
mind to run off into a ‘fantasy’ of something negative,
or if we place our attention on a positive/life enhancing behaviour/outcome,
it grows! Where ever we place our focus, whether consciously or
unconsciously is fed. Sadly most people are creating from unconscious
internal dialogue that is self-limiting, placing conscious intention
on specific outcomes gives us the power to literally change the
very being of who we are!
Changing our Experience of Reality
So how can we change our reality????? We have to first develop
an awareness of and connection to our true feelings. Our motivating
feelings can be triggered by external events that evoke memories,
and internal dialogue. Generally this internal dialogue is historical
feedback of experiences we had during our formative years, it
seems the strongest are those that were reinforced. Once we are
able to develop awareness, we are then in a position to choose
to change reactive feelings & internal dialogue - becoming
a master of action not a victim of re-action! Remember feelings
give movement to; they propel the act of creation. Read the word
again, RE – ACTION: - to re-enact a previous behaviour/experience
– so why not choose to re – enact positive life affirming
feelings and behaviours that will create the events/outcomes we
say we desire? Maybe it is because it takes less energy not to
act and it seems to be easier to believe life happens to us, which
gives us many fold reasons why we ‘CAN’T’ change
our lives!!! Now we require the quality of persistence and repetition
to create an new ingrained habit to alter neural pathways.
The alteration of neural pathways involves the physiological process
of continuity of information from one part of the brain to another
i.e. 'information flow'. Information flow is a function of the
propagation of nerve impulses along the neurons and their transmission
from one neuron to another across the gaps that separate them,
the synaptic clefts. The effectiveness of synapses to initiate
or 'fire' the development of new signals on connecting neurons
involves a series of complex molecular events which depend on
nerve impulses which are strong enough to increase the potency
of other synapses so that their influence enhances the creation
of new synapses and new pathways which equal new thoughts, behaviours
& outcomes. When this stimuli is not strong enough then synapses
atrophy, the formation of new synapses depends on stimulation
through activity. Changes in neural pathways and the creation
of new ones constitute the biological basis for 'learning' and
the retention of learning or 'memory'.
There is a theory that any habit is formed through consistent
behaviour of 21 days, this applies to negative and positive habits,
and there is no discrimination! So we need to practice our visualisation
with a strong connection to our feelings for 21 days to propel
the creation of new circuitry.
A new study in the Oct. 20 issue of Nature, led by Ann Graybiel
of MIT's McGovern Institute, now shows why. “Important neural
activity patterns in a specific region of the brain change when
habits are formed, change again when habits are broken, but quickly
re-emerge when something rekindles an extinguished habit -- routines
that originally took great effort to learn”.
"We knew that neurons can change their firing patterns when
habits are learned, but it is startling to find that these patterns
reverse when the habit is lost, only to recur again as soon as
something kicks off the habit again," said Graybiel, who
is also the Walter A. Rosenblith Professor of Neuroscience in
MIT's Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences (BCS).
Conscious Living
People who live their lives consciously over long periods of time
can begin to experience very subtle changes in their body’s
physiology. The development of such a heightened state of consciousness,
this immediacy, allows them to make conscious behavioural choices
that can halt or even reverse detrimental processes occurring
– breathing being one of them. Altering our breathing consciously
affects almost instantly our physiological processes, the chemical
reactions within the body and the impact these have on the body.
By altering breathe, we alter health!
Lets not forget how changes in our own energy field, and the
development of awareness can have a profound impact on all those
we come into contact with. Our bio-electromagnetic field is always
interplaying with those of all living things, which is why there
are some people, places or things eg types of music we love to
be around and there are other people, places or things we don’t
want to be around or feel not so good after being in contact with.
The Institute of HeartMath in one of their research articles
- The Energetic Heart explains the bio-electromagnetic interactions
within and between people. It explains how when you’re not
consciously communicating with others, your physiological systems
are interacting in subtle and surprising ways? Or that the electromagnetic
signal produced by your heart is registered in the brain waves
of people around you? Or that your physiological responses sync
up with your mate's during empathetic interactions? It looks into
and explains why the heart's electromagnetic field is believed
to act as a central synchronizing signal within the body, an important
carrier of emotional information and a key mediator of energetic
interactions between people.
The Institute of HeartMath and others' explores research on bio-electromagnetic
interactions and how living and acting from a coherent heart state
can affect those around us. Go to www.heartmath.org
